An Ode to Family* on E
The night is slow
It aches with the intensity
Of unacheived potential.
A thousand drinks,
To partner one hundred winks,
Ten sweat soaked hand shakes,
One clandestine embrace
On a dimly lit staircase.
It is all a charade.
*Note: Family is the name of a popular gay bar in Auckland - New Zealand

Why do you think it is a charade Tahllulah?

Tah,
I like how you wrote this poem, it produces simple images that speaks volumes of the lonliness and charades that goes on in bars.
Poetic~

Tahllulah,
I love the lines:
"It aches with the intensity
Of unacheived potential."
They are so vividly realistic. I've been there and I know the vibe exactly.
Nice write, Tahllulah.
Hugs,
Eilidh
