I could so very easily fall for you
So very easily fall.

With hands shaped like mine
You cultivate Spring
Wherever you walk
Tossing wildflowers over your shoulders.

I want to be a crocus
Coaxing daffodils of Spring
Bending time
As it bends for you bend it
for me.

Laughing in freshly fallen snow, we know
I could so very easily fall for you
But because I can,
I won’t.

The title of this piece ought to be....Restraint, Eilidh.

All that holding back...is it good for you?

Thanks for reading, MG.

To answer your question, yes, I am making the right choice. This particular person and I are too similar. We build off of each other like a positive reaction: energy builds and builds and builds and eventually we would both spin out of control. Ecosystem failure. So instead, I'm putting all of my effort into learning from them and enjoying their company when we're together. From what I can tell, they are doing the same.

Hugs,
Eilidh

Lovely piece, the scene described perfectly matches the process of falling. Though I have to say I have never understood how anyone can hold back, once it's begun. Physically, sure, but emotionally? Maybe it's just because someone said that to me before and at least on my end it never felt like a choice. Falling is falling, you can fan your arms like a bird all you want but eventually you've got to hit the ground.

Brach,

Thanks for reading and sharing your insight. Your position (if I'm reading correctly) of having someone say they were holding back when you were simply obeying the laws of gravity and falling, does sound like a painful position to be in. This person and I are doing more of an intellectual tango at this point. If it's meant to be, it will be, but right now, it's clear that we have a lot to learn from each other without getting too deeply involved. Like all things worth the effort: it's complicated.

~Eilidh

P.S. Sorry I've responded so long after you posted. I've been buried under mounds of research for school. *just peeking my head out now*
