Marlboro Woman Part 1 and Part 2

Marlboro Woman

I came out here to smoke her brains out
and here she is, still completely dressed between my fingers.
I know she's been getting angry with me lately,
for not wanting to take her out in public anymore.
And I feel bad, truly.
But it's not like I’m cheating on her with Mary Jane or anything,
(She’s too much of a joker for my liking.).
I like my women smooth and serious,
Moody and mysterious.
Willing to sit with me on the porch on a cold night,
Watching me write poems,
As I inhale her smoky romance,
And exhale her smiles.
I would watch with an admiring eye,
As her essence drifted swiftly to the constellations,
Never to return until the nervous spark of a zippo
Turns into a flame and sets her heart on fire.
All of this raw passion is building inside of me,
But if we don’t break up she may be the life of me.
It's pretty high-risk, and so is breathing without her,
But still, she's pretty sensible.
And I’m sure she’d understand me if I said
that I wanted to meet other women.

Marlboro Woman: Part II

After rethinking my feelings for her,
I realized that I can't live without her nicotine breath,
She's not quite as sensible as I once believed,
And she wouldn't understand me
If I told her that I was interested in meeting other women.
Actually, she's kind of perfect for me
And leaving her behind,
Kicking her to curb,
And scraping her hot and bothered body into the pavement
Until she was a crumbled mess
Of ash and charcoal smudges
Was selfish of me.
Who am I to think that I can do better than the woman who burns for me?
Better than the woman who gives me calm inhales of clarity?
Why would I want anyone else,
When no other woman has a chance,
At brightening my tarnished yellow smile?

( Note: Just wanted everyone to know that I'm not dead! Smile )
