Tent for me... but you're right, there are some nights in the mountain that get cold and a cabin is grand... tho a big old tent with a big old fire out front and my lady snuggled in our bedroll tends to keep the chill off.
and the rest? yep, lake, fishing, trails, song, good company, lots of crickets, clear dark sky and a million stars overhead... full moon is always wonderful too .... etc..... no gators thanks.
Haven't been camping in oh..... let's see, about a month.
its getting cold right now in these hills.... _________________ " The sorcerers in life are created within each of us" --- Lynn V. Andrews

I'm actuallt planning to hike the Appalachian Trail starting this spring...
I don't have a tent right now, but I usually don't use on in the summer anyway. A tarp is good enough. But not during fall or winter when I could die of hypothermia if I got sufficiently rained on. (-_-)
I'm'a go buy a tent now... _________________ "My food is problematic."

Always a tent! I've never camped in the winter time, would love to try it sometime. But my dogs, my gf, the tent, and a nice fire, who could ask for anything more? _________________ Giving myself to others has made me jaded...

I love camping! But, living up in Northern NJ, I prefer a cabin, since we have our share of pesky black bears roaming around. They only need to see a cooler to go crazy. Plus, the cabins I stayed in had their own bathroom! Nice when it's dark and chilly outside!

I only like it if there's running water, indoor plumbing, and someone to play with. LOL
hugs,

I think only people who enjoy camping are gonna reply to this...
I love the idea of camping...I think it could be fun,
but bugs and mosquitos love my blood (guess I'm just too sweet ) and I'm highly allergic...

I love to camp, whats not to love? The smell of the great out doors is one you will never forget. I esp. love to camp near the ocean, close enough that the sound of the waves puts you to sleep at night while your woman is wrapped in your arms but not so close that your tent gets washed away with the tide. (You laugh now, but I've seen some stupid campers try it!) I grew up camping with my family, it is one of the good memories I have as a kid, so I guess that is why it has stuck with me as a prefered hobby. We started out in tents, moved to a pop up and then to a top notch RV. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. I think pop ups are my favorites, they don't leak in the rain (at least the one I own now doesn't), its high enough off the ground that there are not as many bugs, snakes and spiders that are going to get ya and last but not least.... Have you ever gone to sleep to the sound of rain in a pop up? Soooo soothing...
Wow I typed more than I thought I was going to LOL
Later,

Never been camping in my life!
Probably never will...where would I plug in my curling iron...how could I put on my makeup...would I break a nail. So much to consider.
