To Eilidh, Mdm and other Philly girls
Please choose carefully where you park your car
Lest the Parking Authority cause you to lose your curls
Vigorously shaking your head in disagreement as your spirits they mar
Watching Parking Wars with friends made me cringe
To think of the peril you undertake by parking on the street
I hope you ladies in the City of Brotherly Love have no contact with that lunatic fringe
That seems to love to tow and boot with their vast fleet _________________ "It is better to know some of the questions than all of the answers."

should we pass out lockpicks and saws to people going to philly?
Hugs,

I have been both booted and towed. The worst part is when you then have to go to the Parking Authority to pay a fine and wait in line forever. The clerks working there seem to be on one speed - slow. And if you appeal, you almost always lose.
When I was towed, I had been late for a meeting where I could not be late.
I parked on the sidewalk of City Hall in a spot designated for some city official. I was betting he/she was out sick for the day-I was wrong. I guess I really did deserve that tow.
Good post lost.

Eire,
Sounds like a good idea.

Mdm,
Sorry to hear that you've been booted and towed. I normally wouldn't have watched the show, however, I was staying with friends and they watched it. I quickly came to the conclusion that on-street parking is much worse in Philly than D.C.
You have my sympathies for having had to deal with the Parking Authority. A trip to their offices looks to be much more painful than a trip to the dentist. They certainly aren't portrayed in a good light on the show.
Here's hoping you have no more encounters with them. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and all other Philly ladies on Mel's (heck, I'll just keep my fingers crossed for all residents of your fair city).
