Evangeline
The green-veined tiniot stone
Is cooler to her heel than she
Remembers, the crowds of the
Day have passed, she clasps her
Eyes on the magnificence of
Evangeline, she has returned
To her... At last…
The flickering of candles, sealing
A bond over their sacred embrace,
Lying... silently, under the bell tower,
She remembers, the pilgrims journey
To make peace... gazing into her
Byzantine eyes, this tainted layer...
Can now... be fully... released....
The gold of the magician’s amulet sparkles
Against the whites of her free flowing robes,
Tiptoeing into the crypt, Oh Evangeline,
Don’t stop pressing, the droplets of your
Holiness, into the creases of her....
.....drying skin...
Once again, she turns her heel sideways
On the warmth of the marbled mosaic,
Alive with Evangeline, she has sworn!
On the date of her divine, always, she is
Humbled, to return, to experience the
Purity of her blessed and noble design _________________ -----------------------------------------------------

That's just beautiful, K, and a bit of a departure for you, isn't it? Brava.

Breathtaking K... (yes, no comma before K...) The sacred meeting, the holiness of connection... "Exquisite imagery" is so cheap a phrase to describe the Return and the Warmth of that Return. Yes, it would have to be under the "bell tower" and it would have to be "tiptoeing into the crypt"... It would have to be everything you describe... Under the sun may be the most appropriate setting to glorify Sacred Connection and Love, but a flickering candle has the blessing of shedding Light on the Faces of those who bend over it. That's what your poetry is, K. A candle. A Blessing...
