Bring on the storm clouds
So bring on the storm clouds,
Bring on the rain
Bring on thunder and lightning
Again and again
Bring on dark skies and showers
And winds from the south
Let them blow, let them rage
Like these words from my mouth
Let no birds be singing
Let no children play
Let the winds, cold and cutting
Steal all joy from the day
Mouth no wishes for sunshine
Send no prayers to the skies
Let the heavens above me
Pay no heed to your cries
Let the purple clouds drown us
With damp desolation
For my weather of choice
Brings unique consolation
So bring on the deluge
And let the rain do its part
Let the view from my window
Match what’s inside my heart. _________________ Be yourself.............everybody else is taken!

This. Ever wonder why when we're sad, some of us seek out the saddest songs to listen to, the saddest books to read? The consolation is not in your imagination, but sheesh, we humans are certainly a strange species!
Also: very well measured. The words and meter are neatly contained. Perhaps in contrast with the emotion ...

Yes, I thought the same thing after I wrote it Eil. Clipped and curt words to express the wildness of emotions within.
