For my mother
Words fall from my lips like heavy rain.
My wanting to be heard has left me nothing but strained.
Walls echo the sounds of hurt anger, though my life has left me feeling like a stranger.
Time has come and past me by. I sat, watched, and felt the need to cry.
I am not happy, my strength is gone, but I quest on for my morning's dawn.
As I speak to you with emotional ties, your walls continue to keep you buried inside.
All that I have seen I remember none, but am I wanting and waiting for my life to be undone.
The night is against me, it no longer hides my will, now in the open I am left wanting still.
Back and forth up and down, when I look in the mirror its stairs back a sad clown.
I know that my world has ended, for many years I hungered for it to begin again.
A living death with nothing inside, but memories of my family and my unwillingness to try.
Rambling alone this darken path teased by the light of my inner child.
In the quiet, I cry aloud, hoping and praying to be found.
Sitting no longer holds me still, moving without motion that spirit I killed.
There are no easy answers only hard truths, but who is to say that I must accept them if I do not wish too.
My prison is not a cell, there are no bars that hold, my prison is my life and my story is untold.
For many years, I wanted more of me to come outside to see the wonders that the world tried to hide.
I smile with ambition as life walks by hoping that it will recognize me and ask me to try.
I wanted to know more and see the unseen. I want the wind to carry me to my dreams. _________________ I am the dark that give life to the light of you.
