Process Polka

Listen to the song here:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=90145\

Words here - a duet! Very Happy

The Process Polka
Copyright 2003 Zonna and Corinne Curcio

We can take a simple thing and complicate it
We totally agree and still debate it
Every action, every word thoroughly evaluated
Till the slightest doubt has been eradicated

Yes, of course I hear what you’re saying
But maybe there is more than meets the eye
Let’s continue sifting through and weighing
Till we’ve exhausted all the what ifs and whys

Was there something in your tone?
Can’t you look me in the eye?
Should I just leave you alone?
Wait - did I just hear you sigh?
Did you mean the words you said?
Did you say the words you meant?
Let’s unravel every thread
Please explain it once again.

Process, process, process until it is puree
Mix and mull, chop and cull
Whip up a fluffy word souffle
Process, process, process and tear it all to shreds
When we do the process polka we are dancing with our heads

There's no reason to move on so fast
When we can still regurgitate the past
If we want this relationship to last
We must dredge up all the history we've amassed

I think I understand but I'm not certain
Words can have two meanings, sometimes more
Talk is cheap so let’s not pull the curtain
You know how it turns me on when we explore

I have to ask my shrink
How we wound up in this stew
She will tell me what to think
She will tell me what to do
Is the answer in a book?
Is there secret recipe?
Will I ever learn to cook
This enigmatic fricassee?

Process, process, process until it is puree
I’ll dice and slice and analyze
I’ll grind and grate and ruminate
Process, process, process and tear it all to shreds
When we do the process polka we are dancing with our heads

When I profess to making progress with my process
Promising to prove the prowess I possess
I reduce what I produce to utter nonsense
So I’ll orate then I can make a bigger mess

Haha, nice work Corinne.
Are you the first voice or the second?

It would have taken me a while to learn the "p"-lines:
"When I profess to making progress with my process
Promising to prove the prowess I possess"
Talk about a tongue twister! Laughing

I'm the first voice - and that's me on keyboard, and guitar and bass
My pal Carol's on drums and she's the second voice
The engineer played the slide whistle Very Happy

Thanks for listening/reading Eilidh
