The Normals
You are my Book of Esther
You float and drift as a robot, metallic eyes and rigid limbs
You shoulder the heirarchy of my queerness on your wasp-laden hill
You sail by on a gondola, "skull and bones" symbol on the flag
You are sure it conjures images of pirates, not the scent of Yale,
not an ironclad presciption of Your societal clusterfuck.
You erect a wall of virtue, as sexually hungry hetero women eye us
You draw Your caricatures of the First Lady with a penis, without ever
asking Yourself... what if She had one?
You press the buttons on Your remote as the media saturates cocktails
sipped by Dancing Sam and his barmaid
You fit gender into a binary system of zero's and one's
You see Arabic women as cacoons, noir wrapped in scarves
Your GPS system (in a sultry voice) states "You have made.. a wrong turn"
(if only there were oil involved instead of sewn up labia)
You lick from a reservoir, seeping into the present world, wondering if
You will ever make love.. to the barmaid?
You take us on a government-orchestrated ride. Meanwhile six-billion
people slide into Your two gender categories and we seem
to be bifocal
Your eyes.. on all the angry Ani Difranco fans, whispered in silence
You raise Your brows at de Bouvoir... "The body.. is.. a situation?"
You raise us this way because this.. is how You want to see us, as in
a non-verbal dialogue with my government, I try not to curtsy
before the bills of inclusion while I kneel in the center of
Jackson Square wondering - where is our John Lennon?
Where is our Stein, our King, our voice? Maybe everyone knows
You. The eye of Horus watches us all from the Freemason's temple
You restrict our concepts . Progressive they say, Pigland Bland turns
up his snout
You place him on a dinner table with an apple in his mouth,
aristocratic, tail spiraled
as garnish for

Well done, Chord. You've managed to express so many good points in so many vivid images, yet again.
Hugs,

Yeah, I was a little surprised not to find this in the slam section. It's pretty obvious that this poem had some sort of political impetus. You may call it "crap", but I still enjoyed reading it.

Wow, I thought it read like
stream-of-consciousness
, and that's why.
A cracker, in more ways than one.
