SBU
(Single But Unavailable—
I don’t claim any credit for coining this term, Footsie is the one who came up with it.
)
I’m taking an unpopular stand in this couples-dominated land
Although single, I’m unavailable for a coupling
Been there done that, what a catastrophe
My ex broke my heart and took my sanity
I’m back on my feet
Quite a mean feat since there’s still a large chunk of me missing
Never again will I let anyone in my life, or allow a glimpse of my psyche
It’s the free life for me; I’ll live it with ease
Free to be me and not bend to anyone else
I’ll listen to all the music I love
I’ll read in peace and quiet
I’ll watch movies I like
I’ll exercise and diet
I’ll play with my 4-footed kids
I’ll travel where I like
No one else’s agenda will dictate my life
As for that 3-letter word that begins with s and ends with x
Well, who needs a partner
I have all 10 digits of both hands
And there are toys galore and all manner of lubes (colored and scented)
Stories, videos and photos as well if the imagination fails
So who needs to be part of a couple
No advantage do I see
No, I’m officially Single But Unavailable—
SBU,
you see
Hugs,

Lol, jc--I'm still planning on moving back to civilization. In fact, that's one of the things that's got me trying to step up my weight loss to get the last pounds off in 8 weeks and, hopefully, just be in maintenace mode once I'm out of here. I'm fortunate not to have a commute here, which gives me the luxury of additional time, which I'm using for exercise. I know that will disappear once I'm back in a city. However, civilization won't change my SBU status.

Ummm, there are pleanty of times I have needed that SBU phrase (possibly now). Thank you for an appropriate poem. _________________ Twilight, Her Royal Highness, The Queen of Fun and Games
