 Just once did I want you to take me in your arms
To hold me to rock me and for once keep ME safe from harm
Just once did I want to look into your eyes
And see the certainty that you knew I told you no lies...

Just once did I long for your loving, gentle, touch.
Why do you even tell me that you love me very much?
Just once did I need to hear from only your voice,
That you were proud of me cuz I made one good choice..

Just once not long ago all I wanted was for you to finally see,
That to my heart and soul it was you and only you that had the key
Just once did I want to truly see
That you finally kept at least one promise that you made to me...

Just once did I want to be first on your list
To feel I was more important than any call missed...
Just once did I wish I felt I had an equal say
As to the decision if we were together or apart on one particular day...

Just once did I hope that you could put yourself aside,
And try and really see me and what I was feeling deep inside,
Just once will I pray that I know my love wasn't a total waste,
Just once could you hold your love still and not make me chase?

For just this once can you just show me you love me no matter what?
Show me some love and say some words not meant to cut,
Just this once can you keep it just between me and you?
Together lets decide to do whatever it is we need to do
PLEASE JUST ME AND YOU?

"Just once" is closely related to "shoulda, coulda, woulda" ...
