a frenzy of spins and suds

Location: Lakewood, CA 		a frenzy of spins and suds

 my head
spins like
washer cycles;
warm/cool
rinse/spin.

wrapping its
thoughts
around the
dizzy middle
'til it comes
clean off
and falls
into the hood
of my best
tattered
grey
plaid
zip-up
hoodie.

it drowns in
the swirls
of the soapy muck
and becomes
waterlogged
and pruned.

as the cycle ends,
soapy pink water
mixed
with pieces
of paper
and lint
disappears
as it twirls
down the drain.

the machine beeps
after its done.
i open it up
and start to
pull out my clothes.

my head tumbles
and falls free
from the hood
as i pull
the sweatshirt
from the washer
and transfer it
to the dryer.

i then take
one last look
at my severed
thoughtless head,
close the lid,
start another cycle
and watch
as water and soap
fills the machine,
and my head
drowns again
in a frenzy
of spins and suds.

ty Mystery. it certainly does feel this way.

cookie, check out my newest poem and you will be proven right about my occasionally unclean thoughts. they are still pretty clean though. haha.
