Wet But Never Cold
How I used to hold your face with two hands,
move your hair out of your eyes
and kiss you sweet and heavy
to feel your flamboyant existence
melding into the grey-scale space of mine.
How I used to follow through
with my intentions of turning you on,
it was either young naivety
or my fresh heart unbroken, rediscovered
until all genuine confidence was spent.
How I used to be willing to dance
and not think about the sinking
ships & beer-coolers of my body.
How I used to love taking pictures of us,
and capture the ice sculptures
we made with our sweat,
always wet but never cold.

Maybe Other Karie wrote it? In your sleep? In a trance? In traffic?

happens to me all the time when i go back and read something i wrote years or even months ago, I like to think of it as a sign that some of my demons have been properly exorcised through the healing properties of writing...great piece by the way _________________ shemovesme.wordpress.com
