 		Battling the Demons

 Rewind---
The wounds were ragged and bloody---
The pain so unbearable--
I lost the sense of feeling--
Hopeless-Shattered-and Lost....
I never thought I could have the strength to move forward...

Fast Forward--
The wounds are healed, just scars now...
I feel, I live, I laugh and I love....
But every now and again...
I'm thrust back in hopeless despair...
I crawl and fight with fierce determination against the demons of my past
to get myself back...my life, my purpose...

And I'm here to say that so far, I've won every battle to date...

thank you for your comments and empathy...i feel ya' back on this one...yes..i do believe i've become very empowered due to the struggles i've overcome on this journey...and that is what it's all about...learning...growing..teaching...we are all but teachers and pupils on this incredible journey....it's how we apply the lessons that determine our paths.....

Sometimes these wonderful writes from the archives get dusted off and brought back to the front again. Why sometimes we all wonder .... but this evening I find this one.

I read it out of curiosity .... and find myself nodding & agreeing as I read it. That's my life ... on a day to day basis. Always fighting the demons .... some days are more triumphant than others. But as you said ......

Glad this one got dusted off and brought back to life Exclamation I too can relate to it and love the final line. It serves as a reminder that each battle may seem intense and overwhelming but we are much stronger than we sometimes give ourselves credit for. Adn from each battle victory comes more experience and strength to draw from in the future.
