Life & Times

I wish I was a bean
Why? Well you might ask
So, here’s a little tale

I wish I was a bean
In this day & age
Beans are really, really smart

Beans get counted
Every single bean amounts
To a total very keen

Beans are the most important things
Even all those grubby counting paws
Don’t matter to the mighty bean

People who used to matter once
These days aren’t worth a fig
Compared to the wee green bean

Beans gets counted here and there
And everywhere
People just don’t rate at all

I wish I counted too

I don’t want to disadvantage beans
But I really do believe
That this bastard counting culture
Might consider me as real

If I were little round and countable
Simply undemanding
Just like a bloomin’ bean.
